'Where tradition and vision meet' apply describes the philosophy upon which Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Campus bases the design of education it offers for its students. While concentrating on the exciting leading edge endeavours such as Information Technology and Computer Science, which have significant impact on a curriculum for the future, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Faculty members maintain a strong value for the tenets of a traditional, time-honoured education.

Our schools and colleges provide opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education, all influenced by Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul distinctive interdisciplinary approach to learning with spiritual atmosphere. Here in Gurukul we do not train children to learn by force and harshness, but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that we may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.

The art of debating and public speaking, the study of classical as well as modern literature, and dynamic programmes in Art and Music are fundamental components of our curriculum. And we do not neglect the importance of Sports and Physical Education. We understand the importance of a well-rounded education as the bedrock of an education which provides the diversity of choices students will make as they continue on their educational and career paths.

Above all, we view our students as individuals - as young people who have the potential to make a significant contribution to the life of our school and become effective world citizens. Young people who achieve personal and academic success by being encouraged and motivated to accept the challenge of high achievement.

We recognize their uniqueness and our responsibility to do the very best to ensure success and academic fulfillment for all our students through offering a diversity of opportunities to enhance learning.

The High Vision Programme Centers of Gurukul...

?Education is not the filling of a bucket but the lighting of a fire.?

The implication is that great teachers do not deposit knowledge into students, but elicit the understanding students already possess. Truly meaningful work both gives students new knowledge and draws on the wisdom students already possess.

Different minds learn differently and learning patterns manifest in a rich variety of ways. The exciting task for teachers is to learn to understand this and explore the ways that their students can best achieve success.

It was the true passion of Shastri Swami Shree Keshavprakashji with Guru Shree Purani Narayanpriyadasji?that has developed Gurukul?s High Vision Programmes and have been implemented to enhance and build on the concept contained in the Gurukul?s Mission Statement that all students are unique.

Programmes under high vision? are designed to complement and enhance Campus's regular curriculum. Some are incorporated in the school curriculum framework. Other programmes may require a more intense application for a specific period of time. High Vision programmes include:

  • Enriched programme units for Gifted Students

  • Elite Athlete Programmes

  • Direct Instruction Modules

  • Advanced Placement Courses for campus credit

  • Academic Coaches

  • Tutoring Services

  • Authentic assessment

  • Project-based learning

  • Student-led assemblies

"Knowledge is the distilled essence of our institutions, corroborated by experience."
